Constitution Week Luncheon & Seminar

Overview

In commemoration of Constitution Week, the St. Petersburg and Tampa Chapters NSSAR are collaborating to sponsor a special SAR-DAR Luncheon, followed by a two session Seminar. 

President Bob Rogers of St. Petersburg and President John Goolsby of Tampa would like to invite your DAR chapters and their interested guests to this special patriotic and educational event to be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 in the St. Petersburg Yacht Club Main Ballroom. (11 Central Ave, St. Petersburg) 

The day’s activities will consist of two components: The Joint SAR/DAR Meeting and an afternoon two-session seminar. 

Special Guest Speaker: Mr. Joseph Hardesty, Head Librarian / Director of the NSSAR Library, Louisville, Kentucky 

Mr. Hardesty will speak first at the SAR/DAR luncheon, and then present two afternoon education sessions. 

The Constitution Luncheon will be structured as a “Joint SAR/DAR Meeting” and will include both SAR and DAR opening rituals.

Chapter banners are most welcome. This promises to be an extraordinary event, and a delightful day full of patriotism, fun and education.

II. Afternoon Seminar: “The Library Comes to You”: two one hour sessions: 

(a) Secrets of Using Family Search.org Research Wiki, and Family Search.org Catalog 

(b) The History of the US Federal Census: What it can tell us about our ancestors in historical context 

Admission Fees 

Luncheon – St. Petersburg Yacht Club SAR/DAR Luncheon: $24, parking included; (meal is: Herb roasted Chicken Coq au Vin & Yacht Club’s Topsail Carmel Flan) 

Seminar – Afternoon Seminar Sessions: No charge for DAR, compliments of the St. Petersburg and Tampa Chapters SAR Education Initiative 

For those wishing to attend the education seminar sessions only, no meal purchase is necessary. (also, no seminar fee)
